Hello everyone! Summer is officially here – congratulations to all of my students who performed in the recitals on May 20th, you all did a fantastic job!! Here at NSMA we’ll be starting summer lessons soon (summer lessons are 6/10-8/14), so here are a few reminders for you!
Reminder: I am out of the country May 21-June 6. I have no phone access and limited internet access, and may not be able to respond to emails until I get back. I don’t think we should have any emergencies while I’m gone, so I just ask that you please be patient if you have any questions about summer lessons/performances/workshops, I promise I will address those when I am able to.
American Cancer Society Relay for Life: I am thrilled to announce that NSMA students will be performing at this year’s American Cancer Society Relay for Life here in Juneau at Riverbend School/Dimond Park June 8 & 9! The Relay for Life is a great cause raising awareness and money for cancer research, and one dear to my heart as I have had many family members affected by cancer. Our students will be performing Saturday June 9 at 2:00pm – please come out to support them and to support the Relay for Life!
Rehearsals for Relay for Life Performance: I will be holding rehearsals for the Relay for Life performance Friday June 8 2-5pm. If you haven’t signed up for a rehearsal time slot yet, please do so asap! I’ll be sending out email reminders when I get back in town, but that will only give people 24 hours notice, so please make sure you mark your calendars!
Musical Theater Master Workshop: I am also pleased to announce that NSMA will be putting on its first Master Workshop with guest NYC artist Terry Lynn LeCompte! Held July 16-28, 20 students will have the opportunity to work with Terry Lynn and I on musical theater songs and acting with a culminating performance at the end of the workshop. Please contact me for more information on the workshop and how to get registered.
Our Move: NSMA will be moving into its new location throughout June, but all lessons in June will be held at the Arctic Circle location. Starting July 1st, all lessons forward will be held at the Sawa Circle location. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we make this move and transition into our new location.
If you are a potential new student and are interested in summer lessons, I do have a few openings in my schedule still. Please fill out the online Registration Form or contact me for more information on NSMA and how to get signed up for lessons.

Hello everyone! Welcome to spring, I think we’re finally seeing a little bit of it here in Juneau! It’s going to be a busy spring for NSMA, we’ve got a vocal workshop in April and we’re getting ready for our Spring Recital in May.
April Vocal Workshop:Â NSMA will be holding another vocal workshop, “Singing and Movement,” Sunday, April 15th 12:00-3:00pm. There is a $15.00 fee for attending the workshop, and students should be registered no later than Friday, April 6th. Please contact me asap if you would like to register for the workshop!
Spring Recitals:Â NSMA will be holding our annual Spring Recitals Sunday, May 20th. I will be sending out information about the recitals later this month, students wishing to perform will need to sign up for one of our two recitals (exact times TBA), so please be on the lookout for that letter.
Summer Lessons:Â I will be teaching lessons during the summer and in April I will be sending out a letter to begin scheduling summer lessons. Please remember that if you decide to take the summer off from lessons, your student will not lose their space in my studio for the next school year. Also, if your student will be taking summer lessons, I will have a completely different schedule, and lesson days/times will be offered on a first come basis.

Hello everyone! March is here and Spring Break is around the corner, although with all of this snow we’re having I’m not sure ‘Spring’ is here yet! But here at NSMA we’re into our spring semester and looking forward to our upcoming performances.
April Vocal Workshop: Friday April 13 5:00-8:00pm we will be having our next vocal workshop, ‘Singing and Movement.’ Guest lecturer Ricci Adan (dance instructor at Juneau Dance Unlimited) will be joining us and working on adding movement to our performances. I will be sending letters home with students regarding the workshop this next week – please email or call me to get your student signed up for the workshop. Cost is $15.00 (including tax) per student.
Spring Break Reminder: Spring Break is Monday March 19-Sunday March 25 (for students under 18 only) and we will be doing optional lessons that week. By now everyone should have told me whether your student will be having a lesson or not – if there is a change to what you originally told me, please contact me asap.
May Recital:Â We’re now gearing up for our last recital of this school year, our big Spring Recital, which will be Sunday May 20th. While it seems like a ways away, students will be choosing recital songs within the next several weeks. Please let me know if you have any questions about the recitals or your student’s recital song. Next month I will be sending home more information about our Spring Recital, but I wanted to make sure everyone is getting ready now!
Summer Lessons:Â I will be teaching lessons during the summer and in April will start scheduling summer lessons. Please start thinking about whether or not your student will be taking summer lessons so when April rolls around we can jump right into scheduling that. Please remember that if you decide to take the summer off from lessons, your student will not lose their space in my studio for the next school year. Also, if your student will be taking summer lessons, I will have a completely different schedule, and lesson days/times are on a first come basis.
