February News

Hello everyone! We’re now in the swing of lessons for our 2023 Spring Semester. It’s been great seeing everyone back after the holidays and getting to know the new students. Here are some important reminders for this month as well as looking forward to the rest of the Spring Semester.

Sunday/Monday Holidays: There ARE lessons on ALL Sunday and Monday holidays, as well as all teacher in-service and parent/teacher conference days. We DO have lessons on Valentine’s Day 2/14, President’s Day 2/20, St. Patrick’s Day 3/17, Easter 4/9, and Mother’s Day 5/14. Please do not assume we have any one-day holidays off from lessons – if you are unsure, please contact me as soon as possible. Please mark your calendars accordingly.

March Recital: Our next recital is our annual Students’ Choice Recital (all students vote to pick the musical theme) is Saturday March 11 3:00-5:00pm. More information will be sent out via email February 1st.

Spring Break: I will be offering optional lessons the week of the JSD Spring Break March 18-26. More information will be sent out via email February 1st.

Online Lessons Reminder: I am continuing to phase out online lessons, so I am only offering online lessons for health related reasons (Covid, severe colds, flu, etc). Online lessons will not be given for any other reason, including forgetting music, scheduling errors, travel, etc.

MASKS: CBJ has us in the low risk category, however – ALL STUDENTS, REGARDLESS OF VACCINATION STATUS AND INSTRUMENT, MUST WEAR A MASK DURING LESSONS. I will be staying on top of the city regulations and will keep everyone updated with any changes.

Tuition Payment Reminder: Tuition payments are due at the first lesson of every month with a grace period until the 10th of the month. If tuition is received after the 10th of the month, a $25.00 late fee will be assessed. Please drop off physical payments with your student at lesson, send in the mail or you can drop it off any time in the secure white drop box attached to the studio entrance. Please do not come up to the studio to drop off payment if it is not your student’s lesson time, and please do not come up to the main house for any reason. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

New Students: We have a few openings that will be available for the 2023 Spring Semester, particularly for home school and elementary aged students and retirees! Please contact us at megan.e.felts@gmail.com or (907) 500-7455 for more information.
