Hello everyone and welcome to the 2026 Fall Semester here at NSMA! I am so glad to see all of you returning students and to have met all of our new students, and I am excited to see what this fall has in store for us all. Below are some important reminders for this month as well as the rest of the fall, please read through this newsletter carefully and mark any dates on your calendars!
YES to Lessons: There ARE lessons on ALL Sunday and Monday holidays, as well as all teacher in-service and parent/teacher conference days. We DO have lessons on Labor Day 9/07, Alaska Day 10/19, and Veteran’s Day 11/11. Please do not assume we have any one-day holidays off from lessons – if you are unsure, please contact me to inquire. Please mark your calendars accordingly.
No Lessons on These Dates: Sunday September 6, Sunday October 18, and Wednesday November 25 – Sunday November 29.
Halloween Recital: The first recital of the 2026/27 school year will be our annual Halloween Recital on Saturday October 24th 3:00-5:00pm at Chapel by the Lake Church. More information will be sent out in September!
Tuition Payment Reminder: Tuition payments are due at the first lesson of every month with a grace period until the 10th of the month. If tuition is received after the 10th of the month, a $25.00 late fee will be assessed. Please drop off physical payments with your student at lesson, send in the mail or you can drop it off any time in the secure white drop box attached to the studio entrance. Please do not come up to the studio to drop off payment if it is not your student’s lesson time, and please do not come up to the main house for any reason. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Music Around Town:
Perseverance Theater & Sealaska Heritage Institute are performing their joint venture “Kutulagaaw” September 11-20. Tickets and more information are available on their website, www.ptalaska.org.
