May News

Hello everyone! We’re still hunkering down here in Juneau and staying home, and though I know it’s important to flatten the curve I do so miss seeing everyone in person. We are continuing online lessons this month and we’ll be continuing with online lessons for the foreseeable future. Here are some important reminders/updates for this month:

May Lessons: We will be continuing with online lessons for the entire month of May. Instead of ending mid-month (as we normally do), the 2020 Spring Semester will go through all of May. The last day of the Spring Semester will be Saturday May 30th.

May Recital: We will not be having our annual Spring Recital this month, however, I am working on creating a virtual recital for students to share their March and May recital songs on a private YouTube channel. Please contact me for more information.

2020 Summer Semester: We will be having summer lessons starting Sunday June 7th. I will be creating a new schedule (as normal) and will be teaching Sundays/Mondays/Tuesdays. We will plan on continuing with online lessons until such time as we can return to in person lessons, my hope is that will be in June or sometime within the first half of the summer but only time will tell! Please contact me ASAP with your plans re: summer lessons.

2020 Fall Semester: Our Fall Semester will begin Sunday August 16th. Fall registration will begin July 1st as always. The hope is that we will be back to in person lessons by then, but again, it’s just a wait and see game!

New Students: We are currently accepting new students for online-only lessons for the remainder of the Spring Semester as well as looking ahead for the Summer Semester. In addition to piano and voice lessons, we are also now offering music theory lessons for those who wish to work on their music theory knowledge. Please contact me at megan.e.felts@gmail.com or (907) 500-7455 for more information.

Tuition Payment Reminder: Please note: When possible, please use the online bill pay option link on your emailed invoice. I would like to cut down trips to the bank to deposit checks, so I would greatly appreciate that for the time being. Tuition payments are due the first lesson of every month with a grace period until the 10thof the month. If tuition is received after the 10thof the month, a $25.00 late fee will be assessed. Please drop off your payment with your student at lesson, send the payment in the mail or you can drop it off any time in the secure white drop box attached to the mailbox post. Please do not come up to the studio to drop off payment if it is not your student's lesson time, and please do not come up to the main house for any reason. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Music Around Town: I normally have a section where I list all of the musical and performing events around town, but sadly none of these are currently being held. I look forward to the future when we can all enjoy musical events together again.

In parting, I again want to thank all of my clients for your continued support and understanding as we work through these times together. Music is a special gift to all of us, and I thank you all for continuing to make music an important part of your life!!
