Hello everyone! It has been great seeing everyone back to lessons over the past three weeks and so nice to meet all of my new students who are just starting lessons! Below are some important reminders for this month.

2022 Halloween Recital: I am thrilled that we will be returning to in-person recitals! Our annual Halloween Recital will be the first in-person recital since December 2019. It will be held on Saturday October 29th at 3:00pm at Aldersgate Church. Please see the recital email sent on Sept. 1st for more information, please email me with any questions!

YES to Lessons: We DO have lessons on all one-day holidays this month, including Monday Sept. 5th Labor Day. Please let me know if you/your student will not be attending lessons, the normal cancelation policy does still apply.

Covid-19 Travel Update: Families traveling for vacations are not required to do an online lesson upon returning from trips but may request one if they wish. Please let me know all of your travel plans ASAP and we can easily do an online lesson after returning to town.

MASKS: CBJ now has us in the low risk category, however – ALL STUDENTS, REGARDLESS OF VACCINATION STATUS AND INSTRUMENT, MUST WEAR A MASK DURING LESSONS. I will be staying on top of the city regulations and will keep everyone updated with any changes.

Tuition Payment Reminder: Tuition payments are due at the first lesson of every month with a grace period until the 10th of the month. If tuition is received after the 10th of the month, a $25.00 late fee will be assessed. Please drop off physical payments with your student at lesson, send in the mail or you can drop it off any time in the secure white drop box attached to the studio entrance. Please do not come up to the studio to drop off payment if it is not your student’s lesson time, and please do not come up to the main house for any reason. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Juneau Jazz & Classics will be holding a fall festival September 19-24, more information is available on their website www.jazzandclassics.org.

Hello everyone! We are now finishing up our 2022 Summer Semester here at NSMA and mid-month we will be starting our 2022 Fall Semester. It has been nice having a lighter schedule over the summer, but I’m excited to see everyone back for lessons this fall. I am also thrilled to say that we will be 100% in-person for the first time since March 2020! Here are some important dates and reminders for this month and looking ahead to this fall.

2022 Summer Semester: runs through Tuesday August 9th. The 2022 Fall Semester begins Sunday August 14th and runs through Thursday December 22nd.

Fall Update Letter: I will be emailing a Fall Update Letter to all students/parents/guardians when the fall semester begins. Please read through that and mark important dates!

Covid-19 Travel Update: Families traveling for vacations are not required to do an online lesson upon returning from trips but may request one if they wish. Please let me know all of your travel plans ASAP and we can easily do an online lesson after returning to town.

Hello everyone and welcome to the half-way point in our 2022 Summer Semester! I’ve been loving the gorgeous weather we’ve been having and I’m so, so glad that the heat pump in the studio can also do AC so we’re cool and comfortable on these hot days! There are some big things going on this month, please read through this carefully and make note of the important dates!!

4th of July: we will NOT have lessons on Monday July 4th. All lessons on that day have now been rescheduled or canceled, please let me know ASAP if your plans have changed. Enjoy the holiday!

2022 Fall Semester Registration: Registration for continuing students for the 2022 Fall Registration is now open! All continuing students will be guaranteed (as long as the scheduling works out!) lessons as long as you register by July 31st. Contact me earlier rather than later for a better chance of getting your first day/time preference for lessons! New students will be placed on the wait list and contacted towards the end of July/beginning of August to see if there is space available.

Welcome to the 2022 Summer Semester here at NSMA! Great job to everyone who participated in the last virtual recital of the 2021/22 school year, I’m proud of all the hard work that went into creating your wonderful songs. Congratulations to our recent high school graduates, we will miss you!! We’ve been having such wonderful weather, I know it’s hard to carve out the time on days like these for lessons but I so do appreciate seeing everyone this week for the beginning of summer lessons! Here are some important reminders for this month and the rest of the summer.

YES to Lessons: We DO have lessons on Father’s Day Sunday 6/19. Please let me know if you/your student will not be attending lessons that day, the normal cancelation policy will still apply.

4th of July: We DO NOT have lessons on Monday 7/4. Mid-June I will be emailing students with lessons that day to see if anyone would like to reschedule their 7/4 lesson to another day that week.

Hello everyone! We have come to the end of our 2022 Spring Semester here at NSMA and I’m much looking forward to a summer filled with fun and family time! We’ve got quite a bit going on this month, so please read through the information and reminders below!

Virtual Spring Recital: We have been working hard on our last recital pieces of the 2021/22 school year! All students doing in-person lessons may choose to record their recital videos in lessons, but if videos are done at home they must be sent to me by 5:00pm Thursday May 19th. Videos received after that date will not be included on the recital link. I am hopeful that this will be our final virtual recital and that we will be back to in-person recitals next fall!

End of Spring Semester/Beginning of Summer Semester: The final day of the 2022 Spring Semester is Thursday May 19th. There will be no lessons held Friday May 20th through Saturday May 28th. The 2022 Summer Semester will begin on Sunday May 29th. ALL LESSONS WILL BE HELD IN-PERSON STARTING MAY 29TH REGARDLESS OF VACCINATION STATUS.

Due to that, I am requiring all students who travel for school/sports trips do one online lesson upon returning from their trip. Please let me know all of your travel plans ASAP and we can easily do an online lesson after returning to town.
