Hello everyone! We are seriously into winter now with the amount of snow that we’ve had lately! As we’re heading into the last two weeks of lessons before Winter Break, here are a few things to keep in mind:
Winter Holiday Recitals:Â We will be having our annual Winter Holiday Recitals Sunday Dec. 16 at 3:00 and 5:30pm. Everyone should be signed up for a recital time now, the recitals will be held at our regular venue, the Egan Lecture Hall at UAS. Please contact me asap if you have any questions about the recitals!
Winter Break: Winter Break will be Thursday Dec. 20 – Sunday Jan. 6. Lessons will resume as usual Monday Jan. 7.
Tuition Reminder: Tuition is due the first lesson of every month, with a grace period until the 10th of each month. If tuition is not received by the 10th of the month, a $10.00 late fee will be applied. For your convenience, tuition can be sent in the mail, sent with students to their lessons, or put in the white drop box attached to the mailbox post.

Hello everyone! It has been an incredibly busy fall for us here at NSMA, so please excuse the tardiness of my October/November news update! Big congratulations to all of the students who performed in our Halloween Recitals, it was so fun to see everyone dressed up, and you all did such a fabulous job with your performances! We have six more weeks in the fall semester until Winter Break, so here are the things coming up:
Winter Holiday Recitals: We will be having our annual Winter Holiday Recitals Sunday Dec. 16 at 3:00 and 5:30pm. I am sending letters home with students about the recitals, so please make sure you get those letters and you get you/your student signed up for a recital time. Please remember that the recital times are on a first come, first serve basis, so if you prefer one time over the other its best to get your request in asap!!
Lessons Cancelled These Days: We will NOT have lessons 3-9pm Tuesday Nov. 13, I will be at rehearsal for my musical. We will also NOT have lessons Wednesday Nov. 21 – Sunday Nov. 25 as I will be out of town for Thanksgiving.

Hello everyone and welcome back to another fall with NSMA!! We have now begun our fall semester and it is so nice to see everyone back again and meet our new students. NSMA has a jam-packed fall, so here are some important updates:
Fall Recitals: We will be having two sets of recitals this fall again, our Halloween Recitals Sunday Oct. 28th 3:00pm and 5:30pm and our Winter Holiday Recitals Sunday Dec. 16th 3:00pm and 5:30pm. Please put these dates and times on your calendars now!! We will be taking time requests for the recitals as we get closer to those dates.
Reminders: We DO have lessons on ALL Monday holidays, early release days, inservice days and parent teacher conferences days. That means we DO have lessons on Labor Day Monday Sept. 3rd, and parent teacher conferences Thursday/Friday Sept. 27/28th. Please mark your calendars accordingly!!

Piano Tuners: People always ask me about reliable piano tuners and I highly recommend Dan & Vada McElrath of Alaska Piano Services. Located in Anchorage, Dan & his wife Vada are not only piano tuners, they are also registered piano technicians and are among some of the most highly qualified people in the state. Dan and Vada will be coming down to Juneau Oct. 29-Nov. 5th. If you are interested in getting your piano tuned and/or fixed, please contact them at alaskapiano@ak.net or (907) 529-4584.

Hello everyone! July has been a whirlwind here at NSMA and I am thinking this month is going to be the same thing – we have a TON of things going on in August, so I’m just going to jump in!
Musical Theater Master Workshop: Congratulations to the 12 NSMA students who participated in our first two-week long master workshop! I am so proud of all of you, everyone did fantastic!!
Fall Registration: Pre-registration for current NSMA students has now ended. If you/your child is a current student and haven’t signed up for fall lessons, please contact me ASAP. For those on the wait list, I will have a few openings and will be contacting you during the first week of August to see if we can get you signed up for lessons.
Fall Lessons: Fall lessons start MONDAY, AUG. 20th. This date is different than originally stated, so please make sure to mark the change in your calendars!!
Performing Opportunity: I am so excited to let my voice students know that I will be teaming up with Theater At Latitude 58 as the vocal director for their fall production, Roger’s & Hammerstein’s “Once Upon A Mattress.” The production is a musical comedy and will be for students aged 11-24. Auditions are Saturday Aug. 18th (the weekend before school starts), please contact me or visit www.theateratlatitude58.com for more information.

Hello everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful 4th of July, it is always one of my favorite holidays here in Juneau and it was even more fun this year, seeing many of my students not only at the parade, but in the parade! Here are some updates from NSMA:
Musical Theater Master Workshop:Â NSMA will be putting on its first Master Workshop with guest NYC artist Terry Lynn LeCompte! Held July 16-29, 20 students will have the opportunity to work with Terry Lynn and I on musical theater songs and acting with a culminating performance at the end of the workshop. The performance will be on Sunday July 29 at 7:00pm at the Juneau Seventh Day Adventist Church School, 4890 Glacier Hwy (right above the Pioneer Home). Please come out to the performance to support our NSMA performers!
Fall 2012 Registration:Â Fall lessons start Monday August 20th. Pre-registration for current students has now opened for fall lessons. All current students have the opportunity to register for fall lessons during the month of July. Starting Aug. 1st registration will open to those on the wait list, so if you are a current or previous NSMA student and want to continue lessons this fall, please contact me this month to get registered. You can register online via the online registration form, you can download and print off the Fall Registration Letter and Fall Sign Up Sheet from under the Current Students -> Documents tabs, or you can email me with your registration requests.
If you are a potential new student and are interested in summer lessons, I do still have a few openings in my schedule. For those of you who are interested in fall lessons, I do have a wait list for the fall.
