Hello everyone and welcome to summer here at NSMA! Congratulations to all of the students who participated in our Spring Recital last week, everyone did a great job! Below are some important reminders for this month as well as looking ahead for the rest of the semester, and yes, even this coming fall semester!

2023 Summer Semester: The Summer Semester begins Monday June 5th and the Fall Semester begins Sunday August 13th.

Summer Holidays: There ARE lessons on ALL Sunday and Monday holidays. We DO have lessons on Father’s Day 6/18. We DO NOT have lessons on Tuesday July 4th. Other than that, please do not assume we have any one-day holidays off from lessons – if you are unsure, please contact me as soon as possible. Please mark your calendars accordingly.

2023 Fall Semester: Registration for continuing students (regardless of if they are taking summer lessons or not) begins July 1st and goes through July 31st. Please be on the lookout for those registration emails! We will also have room available for new students for the fall semester, so if you’re looking ahead please do contact me to get on the email list.

Online Lessons Reminder: I am officially discontinuing all online lessons! I am happy to be back to 100% in-person lessons and feel that music making and learning are best done in-person!

MASKS: Masks are now optional! As long as the student is healthy and free of symptoms, masks are optional. We ask that students who are sick with more than minor symptoms stay home (fever, bad cough, throwing up, etc.), students with minor symptoms of a cough or runny nose can attend lessons, but we do ask that they wear a mask while symptomatic.

Tuition Payment Reminder: Tuition payments are due at the first lesson of every month with a grace period until the 10th of the month. If tuition is received after the 10th of the month, a $25.00 late fee will be assessed. Please drop off physical payments with your student at lesson, send in the mail or you can drop it off any time in the secure white drop box attached to the studio entrance. Please do not come up to the studio to drop off payment if it is not your student’s lesson time, and please do not come up to the main house for any reason. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

New Students: We have a few openings that will be available for the 2023 Summer Semester! We will will also have openings for new students for the fall semester. Please contact us at megan.e.felts@gmail.com or (907) 500-7455 for more information.

Music Around Town:

Juneau Drag will be hosting an amateur drag/burlesque show at the Alaskan on 6/1. Tickets and more information are available on their website www.juneaudrag.com.

The Juneau Symphony will be performing “Showdowns” 6/3 & 4. Visit their website www.juneausymphony.org for tickets and more information.

Perseverance Theater will be hosting their annual STAR program for kids this July/August. Visit their website www.ptalaska.org for more information.

Hello everyone and welcome to the last month of our 2023 Spring Semester! We’ve got a jam-packed month here at NSMA, please take note of these important dates and make sure they are on your calendar!!

Calendar Change: The 2023 Spring Semester will run through Thursday May 25th! There will be no lessons held Friday May 26 through Sunday June 4th. 

2023 Summer Semester: Registration for the 2023 Summer Semester for continuing students is now open! Please be on the lookout for emails regarding the 2023 Summer and Fall Semesters. The Summer Semester begins Monday June 5th and the Fall Semester begins Sunday August 13th.

Hello everyone! We’re nearing the halfway point of our 2023 Spring Semester here at NSMA, and boy, is time flying by! This month we’ve got a number of things going on, so please read below for some very important information.

Sunday/Monday Holidays: There ARE lessons on ALL Sunday and Monday holidays, as well as all teacher in-service and parent/teacher conference days. We DO have lessons on St. Patrick’s Day 3/17, Easter 4/9, and Mother’s Day 5/14. Please do not assume we have any one-day holidays off from lessons – if you are unsure, please contact me as soon as possible. Please mark your calendars accordingly.

March Recital: Our next recital is our annual Students’ Choice Recital (all students vote to pick the musical theme) is Saturday March 11 3:00-5:00pm at Aldersgate Church (next to the valley movie theater). All students participating are now registered for the recital, everyone is welcome to come watch the great Musical Theater performances that we’ll be showcasing!

Spring Break: I will be offering optional lessons the week of the JSD Spring Break March 18-26. Everyone should now have been in touch with me regarding Spring Break plans, please contact me asap if you have any questions or if you have any changes to your schedule!

Summer 2023 Semester: Registration for the 2023 Summer Semester for continuing students will open April 1st. More information will be sent via email, please contact me if you have any questions!

MASKS: CBJ has us in the low risk category, however – ALL STUDENTS, REGARDLESS OF VACCINATION STATUS AND INSTRUMENT, MUST WEAR A MASK DURING LESSONS. I will be staying on top of the city regulations and will keep everyone updated with any changes.
