Hello everyone! Welcome to the 2024 Summer Semester here at NSMA. I’m looking forward to a fun summer of lessons with a more relaxed pace now that school is out for summer break! Below are some important dates and reminders for this month as well as looking ahead. Please take note!!

2024 Summer Semester: The Summer Semester begins Sunday May 26th and the Fall Semester begins Sunday August 18th.

NO LESSONS: Tuesday June 18th. Please see emails regarding optional rescheduling of lessons for that day.

NO LESSONS: Monday July 22nd through Monday July 29th. Please see emails regarding optional rescheduling of those lessons.

Fall 2024 Registration: Registration for the Fall 2024 Semester will open for continuing students on July 1st. Please be on the lookout for those emails!!

MASKS: Masks are now optional! As long as the student is healthy and free of symptoms, masks are optional. We ask that students who are sick with more than minor symptoms stay home (fever, bad cough, throwing up, etc.), students with minor symptoms of a cough or runny nose can attend lessons, but we do ask that they wear a mask while symptomatic.

Tuition Payment Reminder: Tuition payments are due at the first lesson of every month with a grace period until the 10th of the month. If tuition is received after the 10th of the month, a $25.00 late fee will be assessed. Please drop off physical payments with your student at lesson, send in the mail or you can drop it off any time in the secure white drop box attached to the studio entrance. Please do not come up to the studio to drop off payment if it is not your student’s lesson time, and please do not come up to the main house for any reason. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

The Juneau Symphony will be performing their annual Summer Pops concerts June 1st and 2nd. Tickets and more information are available on their website, www.juneausymphony.org.

Juneau Drag will be hosting their Glam Dragstravaganza June 15th. Tickets and more information are available on their website, www.juneaudrag.com.

Summer Camps:

Perseverance Theatre will be hosting their annual STAR summer program for kids age 12-18 during the month of July. More information and program signup are currently available on their website, www.ptalaska.org.

The Juneau Symphony will be hosting their annual Summer Strings Camp during the month of August for kids 2nd-6th grade. More information and program signup are currently available on their website, www.juneausymphony.org.

YES to Lessons: We DO have lessons on almost every 1-day holiday and all school inservice and parent/teacher conference days! We DO have lessons on Mother’s Day 5/12. Please contact me asap if you/your student will not be attending lessons that day, the normal cancelation policy will still apply.

Spring Recital: The final recital of the 2023/24 school year will be our annual Spring Recital on Saturday May 18th 3:00-5:00pm at Chapel by the Lake Church. All students are encouraged to participate and/or come and watch as an audience member!!

Congratulations to the students who performed in our Students’ Choice Recital in March, everyone did a great job!! Hello everyone! We’re nearing the half-way point in our 2024 Spring Semester. This is a busy month for us here at NSMA, please read through these updates and reminders carefully and double check your calendars to make sure everything is written down correctly!

We DO have lessons on St. Patrick’s Day 3/17, Easter Sunday/Monday 3/31 and 4/1, Mother’s Day 5/12. Students’ Choice Recital: Our next recital will be our annual Students’ Choice Recital on Saturday March 9th 3:00-5:00pm at Chapel by the Lake Church. All students are encouraged to participate and/or come and watch as an audience member!!

Spring Break: The Juneau School District Spring Break this year is Monday March 18 – Friday March 22. We will have optional lessons during Spring Break for those students who are in town and wish to have lessons on Sunday March 17 – Sunday March 24. Lessons will resume as normal Monday March 25.

Hello everyone! Well we certainly got hit with the snow this month, it’s nice to see everyone back after a long Winter Break plus almost an entire week off from lessons for snowmageddon part two! Below is some important information for this month as well as looking ahead this spring.

We DO have lessons on Valentine’s Day 2/14, President’s Day 2/18, St. Patrick’s Day 3/17, Easter Sunday/Monday 3/31 and 4/1, Mother’s Day 5/12. Please contact me asap if you/your student will not be attending lessons that day, the normal cancelation policy will still apply.

Students’ Choice Recital: Our next recital will be our annual Students’ Choice Recital on Saturday March 9th 3:00-5:00pm at Chapel by the Lake Church.
