Hello everyone! I’m excited for spring to be here – it means our first recital of 2016, Spring Break, and (hopefully!) nicer weather! There is a lot going on this month here at NSMA, so please read through the updates and reminders below!

60 Years of Pop Recital: Our first recital of 2016 is our 60 Years of Pop Recital on Sunday March 13th at 3:00pm, held at the Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church. All students participating should be signed up for the recital, and even if you’re not performing, please come and enjoy a great afternoon of fabulous pop music!

Spring Break: Our Spring Break is March 19 – 27. NSMA Spring Break plans have changed and we will be offering optional lessons on ALL Spring Break days. Please contact immediately with any questions.

Summer 2016 Lessons: Yes, it’s almost time to start thinking about lessons for this coming summer! Summer registration informational packets will be handed out in lessons in April.

Spring Recital: Our annual Spring Recital will be held Sunday May 22nd at 3:00pm. Recital registration will open in April. Please make sure this is marked on your calendars!!

Other Holidays: We WILL have lessons as regular scheduled on all other holidays. If you plan on not having your student attend lessons on one of those days please let me know, however, the regular cancelation policy will still apply.

Business Hours: Sat/Sun/Mon 12:00-7:00pm, Tue 1:00-7:00pm, Wed 3:00-7:00pm. Closed all other days and times, and business hours are posted on the front door. Please do not come up to the house if it is not during posted business hours. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

New Students: If you are a potential new student and are interested in lessons, I am fully booked, but do have a wait list started. Please contact me at megan.e.felts@gmail.com for more information on NSMA and how to sign up for the wait list.

Hello everyone! Now that all the ice and snow have melted, I’m ready for spring to be here…but wait, it’s still only February! Here at NSMA February always seems to fly by, so here’s what we’ve got going on for reminders this month:

Pop Music Recital: Our special themed recital this year will be the Pop Music Recital on Sunday March 13th at 3:00pm. We will only have ONE recital this time. Registration for the recital is now open – recital paperwork will be handed out in lessons this week and is also available online on my website via the Current Students/Documents tab. Recital registration deadline is February 20th!

Spring Break: The public school spring break will be Saturday March 19 – Sunday March 27. All current students should have received spring break paperwork in handouts and via email (also available online). Spring Break information deadline is February 20th!

Other Holidays: We WILL have lessons as regular scheduled on all other holidays, including Valentine’s Day and Mother's day. If you plan on not having your student attend lessons on one of those days please let me know, however, the regular cancelation policy will still apply.

Hello everyone! Happy New Year! I’m looking forward to a great 2016 here at NSMA. We’ve got a full semester planned and I’m excited to get started! Here are a few updates and reminders:

Pop Music Recital: Our special themed recital this year will be the Pop Music Recital on Sunday March 13th at 3:00pm. We will only have ONE recital this time. More information will be coming in February.

Spring Break: There will be optional lessons during the public school spring break for TWO DAYS ONLY on Saturday March 19th and Sunday March 20th. There will be NO LESSONS held Monday March 21st through Sunday March 27th. Lessons will resume as normal Monday March 28th. More information will be coming in February.

Other Holidays: We WILL have lessons as regular scheduled on all other holidays, including Martin Luther King Jr. Day, President’s Day, Easter and Mother’s day. If you plan on not having your student attend lessons on one of those days please let me know, however, the regular cancelation policy will still apply.

Tuition Payment Reminder: Tuition Payments are due the first lesson of every month with a grace period until the 10th of the month. If tuition is received or postmarked after the 10th of the month, a $25.00 late fee will be assessed. Please drop off your payment with your student at lesson, send the payment in the mail or you can drop it off anytime in the secure white drop box attached to the mailbox. Please do not come up to the house to drop off payment if it is not during your student's lesson time. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Hello everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. The holiday season is now in full swing and we’ve got our Winter Holiday Recitals coming up this month! Below is the information on the recitals and a few other reminders for this month.

Winter Holiday Recitals: Our annual Winter Holiday Recitals will be Sunday 12/13 at 2:00pm and 4:30pm at the Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church. November News

Hello everyone! Our Halloween Recital was a grand success, thank you to all students who performed and everyone who came to support our performers! Our second recital of the school year is coming up next month, so we’re gearing up for that, and we have the start of the holiday season, so busy, busy busy! Here are a few reminders for the rest of the fall semester:

Winter Holiday Recital: Our fourth annual Winter Holiday Recitals will be held on Sunday 12/13 at 2:00pm and 4:30pm. Registration for the recitals is now open, registration is on a first come, first serve basis and all performers must be signed up by 11/20. Please contact Megan to sign up now!

Thanksgiving Break: There will be NO LESSONS Wednesday 11/25 – Sunday 11/29. Lessons will be held as normal Monday/Tuesday 11/23 & 24 and resume as normal Monday 11/30. Please mark your calendars!!

Winter Break: There will be NO LESSONS Thursday 12/17 – Sunday 1/3. Lessons will resume as normal for the Spring Semester Monday 1/4. All NSMA closure dates are listed on the online calendar on the NSMA website.

NSMA Student Honors: NSMA students Clare Boily, Lily Otsea, Laura Barnhill, Acacia Poulson-Edwards & Nhico Moises were all accepted in to the audition-only Southeast Alaska Honor Music Festival in October. Acacia Poulson-Edwards & Lily Otsea also made it into Alaska’s All State Music Festival later this month.

Lessons on Holidays: We DO have lessons on all one-day holidays, including Veteran’s Day 11/11. If you decide to not attend lessons that day, please let me know as soon as possible. The normal cancelation policy does still apply.
