Hello everyone! It is so nice to be back to lessons and getting back into the swing of things…just in time for our first recital of the school year and then Winter Break! I’m excited for our recital this month, lots of great holiday songs to get us in the festive spirit of this time of year. Below are some reminders for this month.
Winter Holiday Recital: We will be having the first recital of our 2017/18 school year with our Winter Holiday Recital on Sunday Dec. 17 at 3:00pm at Aldersgate Church. All students performing should now be registered for the recital, if you have any questions please contact me asap! There will be no lessons held on recital dates, no makeup lessons for those dates, and you will not be charged for the canceled lesson. Please have these dates marked on your calendars!!
Winter Break: We will have NO LESSONS Thursday Dec. 21 – Sunday Jan. 7. Lessons will resume with the same schedule as in the fall on Monday Jan. 8. Please have these dates marked on your calendars!!
Tuition Payment Reminder:Â Tuition Payments are due the first lesson of every month with a grace period until the 10th of the month. If tuition is received after the 10th of the month, a $25.00 late fee will be assessed. Please drop off your payment downstairs in the studio with your student at lesson, send the payment in the mail or you can drop it off anytime in the secure white drop box attached to the mailbox. Please do not come up to the house to drop off payment if it is not during your student's lesson time. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
Business Hours: Sat/Sun/Mon/Tue/Wed 12:00-7:00pm, closed Thur/Fri. Please do not come up to the door if it is not your student's lesson time or regular business hours, thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
New Students for the Spring 2018 Semester: I am currently fully booked for the beginning of the Spring 2018 Semester. I do have a wait list started, so if you are interested in lessons please contact me for more information on how to be put on the wait list for when I have openings in my schedule.
Music Around Town:
Perseverance Theatre will be performing ‘Steel Magnolias’ 12/1-31. Tickets and more information are available on their website, www.ptalaska.org.
Juneau Dance Theater will be performing their annual ‘Nutcracker’ ballet 12/1, 2 & 3. Quite a few NSMA students will be performing in this great show! Tickets and more information are available on their website, www.juneaudance.org.
The community Holiday Pops choir will be performing 12/16 & 17, tickets and more information are available on the JAHC Community Calendar via www.jahc.org. I know a few NSMA former students will be performing in this show!
Juneau Lyric Opera will be hosting Dr. Byron McGilvray and Janis Capelle for another year of the choral workshop ‘Mid-Winter Vocal Festival’ 12/31-1/7. We often have NSMA students performing in this ensemble! Sign up and more information are available on their website, www.juneauopera.org.
The Juneau Arts and Humanities Council has a running list of community activities available online at www.jahc.org. There are MANY great events this month with the holiday season!!
