October News

Hello everyone! Fall is here – the leaves are changing, the air is crisp and we are gearing up for our first recital of the school year this month! Below are some updates and reminders for this month.

Halloween Recital: Our Halloween Recitals will be held Sunday 10/25 at 2:00pm and 4:30pm at the Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church. All students participating should now be signed up for a recital time. Family and friends are invited to enjoy an afternoon full of great music and fabulous costumes!

Updated Business Hours: Sat/Sun/Mon 12:00-7:00pm, Tue 1:00-7:00pm, Wed 2:30-7:00pm. Closed all other days and times, and business hours are posted on the front door. Please do not come up to the house if it is not during posted business hours. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Lessons on Holidays: We DO have lessons on all one-day holidays, including Alaska Day Monday 10/18 and Halloween Saturday 10/31. If you decide to not attend lessons that day, please let me know as soon as possible. The normal cancelation policy does still apply.

Tuition Payment Reminder: Tuition Payments are due the first lesson of every month with a grace period until the 10th of the month. If tuition is received after the 10th of the month, a $25.00 late fee will be assessed. Please drop off your payment with your student at lesson, send the payment in the mail or you can drop it off anytime in the secure white drop box attached to the mailbox. Please do not come up to the house to drop off payment if it is not during your student's lesson time. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

New Students: If you are a potential new student and are interested in lessons, I am now full for the fall, but do have a wait list started. Please contact me at megan.e.felts@gmail.com for more information on NSMA and how to sign up for the wait list.

Music Around Town:

Perseverance Theatre will be performing Shakespeare's “Othello” 9/11 – 10/4. Tickets and more information are available on their website, www.ptalaska.org.

Juneau Jazz & Classics once again will have Fairbanks jazz pianist Barney McClure down to do a Cabaret workshop 10/12-16 with a culminating performance on 10/16. Tickets and more information are available on their website, www.jazzandclassics.org.

The Juneau Symphony will be performing with new music director Troy Quinn 10/24 & 25. Tickets and more information are available on their website, www.juneausymphony.org.

The Juneau Arts and Humanities Council has a running list of community activities available online at www.jahc.org.
