Hello everyone! This is it, the last three weeks in the 2015 spring semester! We’ve got the push on to finish the semester strong with our annual Spring Recitals on Sunday May 17th. Below are several reminders about what’s going on at NSMA this month.

Spring Recitals: Our annual Spring Recitals will be held on Sunday May 17th at 2:00pm and 4:30pm at the Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church. All students performing should now be signed up for a recital time, please contact me ASAP if you have any questions. All friends, family and non-performing students are welcome to come and enjoy some great performances and for our celebratory receptions after each recital!

Spring Semester: The last day of lessons of the 2015 Spring Semester is Saturday May 16th. There will be no lessons held Sunday May 17th – Friday May 29th.

Summer Semester: The first day of the 2015 Summer Semester will be Saturday May 30th. The summer semester will end Monday August 3rd. All students who are taking summer lessons will receive an email no later than May 17th with their summer lesson day and time. *For those who have not yet told me their summer plans re: lessons, please do so ASAP!

Fall Semester: The 2015 fall semester will begin Saturday August 22nd. All current NSMA students who are interested in returning to lessons in the fall (regardless of whether they are taking summer lessons or not) will be given priority registration that will begin July 1st and end July 31st.

New Students: If you are a potential new student and are interested in lessons, I will have a few openings for starting in June for the summer semester. Please contact me at megan.e.felts@gmail.com for more information on NSMA and how to sign up for lessons, or how be put on the wait list for the fall semester.

Music Around Town:

Perseverance Theatre will be performing the adult comedy “Seven Homeless Mammoths Wander New England” May 1 – 24. More information and tickets are available at www.perseverancetheatre.org.

Juneau Jazz & Classics are presenting their 29th Annual Festival May 1 – 16. More information and tickets are available at www.jazzandclassics.org.

JDHS and TMHS are teaming up to present the musical ‘Mary Poppins’ May 7-10. NSMA student Laura Barnhill will be a featured performer. Tickets are available at Hearthside Books, online through www.jahc.org, and at the door.
