December News

Hello everyone! December is now here and the holiday season has officially started! We’re in the final stretch of getting ready for our Winter Holiday Recitals and I’m very proud of how hard everyone is working on their songs!

Winter Holiday Recitals: Our recitals will be Sunday, Dec. 11 at 1:00pm and 3:30pm. Everyone should now have an assigned recital time. Recitals will be held at the UAS Egan Lecture Hall and we will be having receptions after each recital to celebrate. Please bring a food dish to share – email or call me with any questions!

Winter Break: We will be having a 2-week break for the holidays. There will be NO LESSONS Dec. 18-Jan. 2. Please contact me if you have any questions regarding the winter break.

If you are a potential new student, NSMA is currently fully booked, but we do have a wait list started for new students. Please contact me for more information on the wait list and how to get your name on it!

The Juneau Lyric Opera will perform their annual Holiday Pops 12/10 and 11. More information on the performances is available on their website.

Perseverance Theatre will be performing “A Christmas Carol” 11/25-12/24. NSMA students Esme Crossett and Maxwell Peterson will be featured as members of the cast! More information and tickets are available on their website, www.perseverancetheatre.org.

The Juneau Bach Society will be performing Bach’s Infinity Cantatas at Northern Light United Church 12/3 at 8pm and 12/4 at 3pm. Tickets are available at Hearthside Books, the JAHC and at the door.

The Juneau Bach Society will be performing excerpts from Handel’s Messiah with choirs from The Alaska Youth Choir, Floyd Dryden Middle School, Juneau Douglas High School and Thunder Mountain High School 12/17 and 18.

The Juneau Lyric Opera will be holding it’s annual Mid-Winter Vocal Festival 12/29-1/6 with a performance 1/7. More information is available on their website.
