October News

Hello everyone! Fall is here and in full swing as we’re now half-way through October! We are gearing up for our first annual Halloween Recital, which will be Sunday October 30th. We will be having two separate recital times, 1:00pm and 3:30pm. Everyone should now be signed up for a recital time, if you haven’t done so yet please contact me asap!! **Please remember – all students must be dressed in costume to match their song for the Halloween Recital!!

Reminders: We DO have lessons on all Monday holidays – this also includes school inservice days Monday 10/17 and Tuesday 10/18.

Upcoming Events: NSMA will be having a Winter Holiday recital Sunday December 11th. We will be starting to work on holiday music within the next several weeks to get ready for recital.

If you are a potential new student, NSMA is currently fully booked, but we do have a wait list started for new students. Please contact me for more information on the wait list and how to get your name on it!

Music Around Town:

The Juneau Lyric Opera will be holding auditions for soloists for The Messiah October 22nd. Visit their website, www.juneauopera.org, for more information.

The Juneau Lyric Opera will be starting rehearsals for their annual Holiday Pops October 23. More information on rehearsals and the performances are available on their website.

The Juneau Symphony will be performing a semi-staged concert of Sweeney Todd 10/29 and 10/30. More information is available on their website, www.juneausymphony.org, and tickets are available on their website, Hearthside Books, Rainy Retreat, the JACC and at the door.

Perseverance Theatre’s current production, Alfred Hitchcock’s “39 Steps,” is performing through 10/23. More information is available on their website, www.perseverancetheatre.org.
