April News

Hello everyone! Welcome to spring here at NSMA, I hope everyone had a great Spring Break at the end of last month. We’re pushing forward with our 2022 Spring Semester – it’s crazy to think that we only have seven weeks left until the end of the semester! Here are some important reminders and information for this month and looking forward.

Spring Recital: The final recital of our 2021/22 school year is our annual Spring Recital in May. This will once again be a virtual, online recital due to Covid (hopefully the last virtual recital as I hope to return to in-person recitals next fall!). Spring Recital videos are due by Thursday May 19th at 5:00pm.

YES To Lessons: We DO have lessons on all one day holidays! That includes Easter Sunday 4/17 and Mother’s Day Sunday 5/08. Please let me know if you/your student will not be attending lessons that day, the regular cancelation policy will still apply.

Covid-19 Travel Update: I have had quite a few students this semester traveling for school and/or sports trips who ended up getting Covid or had someone on their trip get Covid. Due to that, I am requiring all students who travel for school/sports trips do one online lesson upon returning from their trip. Families traveling for vacations are not required to do an online lesson upon returning from trips but may request one if they wish. Please let me know all of your travel plans ASAP and we can easily do an online lesson after returning to town.

Spring to Summer Semesters: The 2022 Spring Semester runs through Thursday May 19th. There will be no lessons Sunday May 22nd through Saturday May 28th. The 2022 Summer Semester will begin Sunday May 29th.

MASKS: CBJ now has us in the low risk category, however – ALL STUDENTS, REGARDLESS OF VACCINATION STATUS AND INSTRUMENT, MUST WEAR A MASK DURING LESSONS. I will be staying on top of the city regulations and will keep everyone updated with any changes.

Online Lessons: Online lessons will only be given to unvaccinated voice students, all other students are required to take in-person lessons. In-person students may only request online lessons due to health/Covid related reasons, no online lessons will be given for any other reason for regularly in-person students.

Tuition Payment Reminder: Tuition payments are due at the first lesson of every month with a grace period until the 10th of the month. If tuition is received after the 10th of the month, a $25.00 late fee will be assessed. Please drop off physical payments with your student at lesson, send in the mail or you can drop it off any time in the secure white drop box attached to the mailbox post. Please do not come up to the studio to drop off payment if it is not your student’s lesson time, and please do not come up to the main house for any reason. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

New Students: We have extremely limited openings for new students for the 2022 Spring Semester, and I do have also a wait list started. We will definitely have openings for the 2022 Summer Semester! Please contact us at megan.e.felts@gmail.com or (907) 500-7455 for more information.
