Hello everyone! We’re now in February and into our spring semester here at NSMA! This month we will be having our first vocal workshop of the year and I’m looking forward to it!
Please note: There will be no lessons Saturday 2/18 – Monday 2/20. I will be out of town for the holiday weekend. Please contact me with any questions.
Vocal Workshop: Sunday 2/5 3:00-6:00pm Yoga for Singing workshop. Cost to participate is $15.00. By now everyone should be registered for the workshop – if you haven’t registered yet or have questions about the workshop, please contact me!
If you are a potential new student, NSMA is currently fully booked, but we do have a wait list started for new students. Please contact me for more information on the wait list and how to get your name on it!
Music Around Town:
The Juneau Douglas High School’s spring musical “Kiss Me, Kate!” will be performing February 10, 11, 24 and 25 at the JDHS auditorium. NSMA students Rebekah Badilla, Melissa Bowhay, Melinda Cummins, Ellen Dyar, Megan McAllister, Aria Moore, Asia Ver, and Taylor Vidic will all be featured in the show. Tickets are available at Hearthside Books, www.jahc.org, and at the door.
The Juneau Lyric Opera has started rehearsals for Handel’s Messiah (performance in April), but there is still time to join in as a chorus member! Visit www.juneauopera.org for more information.
The Juneau Symphony will be performing their Symphony Showcase Saturday 2/18 at the UAS Egan Library at Sunday 2/19 at the Northern Light United Church. Visit www.juneausymphony.org for more information and tickets.
