I am an experienced pianist and vocalist who was born and raised in Juneau. I have been singing and playing piano for over thirty years. While growing up in Juneau, I participated in many local musical organizations, including the Alaska Youth Choir, the Alaska Folk Festival, the Juneau Bach Society, and the Juneau Lyric Opera. At Juneau Douglas High School, I was a member of a number of music ensembles, which included Jazz Band, Concert Choir, and Jazz Choir. I was also the accompanist for two years for the Men’s Choir and Treble Choir.

After graduating from high school in 2003, I attended Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts and earned my Bachelor’s Degree magna cum laude in Music Education and received my Massachusetts K-12 music teaching license. Two years later I graduated from Boston University with my Master’s Degree in Music Education. I taught private piano and voice lessons in the Boston area for two years after college before moving back to Juneau in the summer of 2010. In November 2013 I welcomed my son Jackson and in August 2017 I welcomed my daughter Grace!

Once I moved back to Juneau I jumped into the music scene here and have performed with the Juneau Lyric Opera, the Juneau Jazz Divas, the Juneau Cabaret, and our local American Cancer Society Relay for Life event. I have also helped run workshops/shows/classes with the Juneau Cabaret, Theater at Latitude 58, and Juneau Dance Theater.

I encourage my students to thrive on challenges and to embrace the joy that music brings. I enjoy performing and teaching in a myriad of genres that include musical theatre, pop, classical, country, and jazz, and I hope to inspire this love of all music in my students. I believe that music can cross all borders and boundaries and bring people from all walks of life together in celebration.
